From the creator of the hit lift-the-flap board book, Open the Barn Door, comes this new lift-the-flap board book all about vehicles! Featuring a simple text and colorful illustrations, the littlest of vehicle fans will love lifting 11 flaps to find a car, a truck, a fire engine, a motorcyle, and much, much more in this fun and engaging board book.
Santoro walks readers through a series of different garage doors, asking them to imagine what's behind a firehouse garage door, what's behind a farm house door, and more. However, Santoro is clever with his questions; instead of just asking readers for answers, he drops enough clues and hints to encourage them to think beyond what they're seeing. Each panel is also a great way of learning about new things, including race tracks (!) and different types of vehicles.
When readers do open the garage doors to see what's inside, there's a certain delight/peek-a-boo quality that will enchant any young reader. I read the book out loud to a friend's two-year-old son, who was delighted each and every time we opened a new panel. He was so thrilled by the book, I'm now looking into getting Open the barn Door...for him.
The board book itself is small, and can easily be popped into a bag. Highly recommend, full stop.
