It's nighttime and snow is falling hard. Will the town be snowed in? Will there be a snow day? Odds are looking good in this newest Night Before book for the kids who dream of snowball fights, sledding, and the possibility that it may snow again tomorrow!
(Though, we had beaches and 80 degree winters. So I guess that's a good trade-off?)
As a result, I've always gravitated toward stories about snow days, because what a good way to live vicariously, right? Which is why I totally loved The Night Before Snow Day by Natasha Wing.
Set to the tune of The Night Before Christmas, author Natasha Wing shares the fantastic tale of a girl who is happily waiting for a snow day. Once the snow day happens, Wing cheerfully walks readers through the day, and how the world has changed for her snowy adventures!
The story moves quickly, using the same rhymes that have made The Night Before Christmas a surefire hit. (Bonus: You can also introduce young readers to the song as well, which is perfect for the holiday season!) As Wing walks our main character through the door, there are some truly heartwarming moments emphasizing family moments that will delight readers of all ages.
With warm watercolor illustrations, it's a delightful book that will enchant readers of all ages.
