Happy Top Ten Tuesday! Today, we're discussing ten supporting characters that we wish would get their own book! Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely ladies at The Broke and the Bookish! -J |
10. Will from A Mad Wicked Folly (Viking Juvenile)
9. Mrs. Cliffe from Cinders & Sapphires/At Somerton series (Disney Hyperion)
Like Mrs. Hughes from Downton Abbey, I bet Mrs. Cliffe from the At Somerton series knows all and sees all. I'd love to see how a book from her early days, especially as she realizes that her life in service is about to change in unforeseen ways. (Sound mysterious? It's because I can't give away spoilers! Read the books if you want to figure out what I mean!) |
8. Alternate-universe Marguerite from A Thousand PIeces of You (HarperCollins)
I don't think it's really a spoiler to reveal that Marguerite has to deal with the lives of alter-universe Marguerite throughout A Thousand Pieces of You. Gray creates some pretty compelling alternate/multiverse lives for Marguerite, and I would love to see her explore any one of them in a spin-off/short story, etc. |
7. Queen Eleanor from The Ring and the Crown (Disney Hyperion)
6. Melvin from The Fourteenth Goldfish (Random House BFYR)
5. Mr. Tumnus from The Chronicles of Narnia (HarperCollins)
This one's a little random, but I'd really love it if an author could work with the C.S. Lewis estate to do a spin-off of Tumnus's story. He plays such an important part in getting humans back into Narnia, I'd love to see how he fared before meeting Lucy, and how he got on during the Golden Age of Narnia. Also, bonus James McAvoy picture! |
4. Lilah from Open Road Summer (Bloomsbury)
3. Zack from Nantucket Blue/Nantucket Red (Disney Hyperion)
I love Cricket, and I love watching the evolution that she goes through in both books. However, I would love to hear from Zach's side of the story too. I'd love to see how he begins to fall for Cricket, and the evolution that their relationship goes through from his POV. Alternatively, I'd love to see the POV from his sister's view as well. |
