Sneezing? Coughing? Taking a sick day? Don’t worry, you’ll be feeling better soon thanks to this hilarious picture book from Coy Bowles, guitarist of the Grammy Award–winning Zac Brown Band. Full of encouraging—and super-silly—rhyming advice on how to face sick days with courage and a positive attitude, When You’re Feeling Sick is just what the doctor ordered! Comes with a sheet of stickers to bring a smile to every sick kid’s face.
Bowels details in charming rhymes what one should do and shouldn't do, when feeling sick. While some of the advice is delightfully silly, it's still a great nudge to help remind readers that it's important to stay strong, both physically and mentally when you're sick.
However, even with his delightful rhymes and reminders, Bowels does smartly acknowledge that there is no easy shortcut to being sick. He reminds readers to take it easy - a much appreciated nod, for parents - and that they'll soon be out playing, dancing, in a matter of time.
With bold illustrations, this is a much-appreciated respite for readers of ages, and parents as well.
