Today, I'm reviewing the top ten books I'd give to readers who have never read contemporary YA!
Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely ladies at The Broke and the Bookish! -J & T
10. The Book of Broken Hearts by Sarah Ockler (Simon Pulse)
The Book of Broken Hearts is the perfect book for readers who want a strong contemporary relationship between father and daughter.
Without giving any spoilers away, Ockler crafts the type of thoughtful, forgiving and all encompassing relationship that I think anyone who has been in a similar situation will completely empathize with, and find cathartic.
9. How My Summer Went Up in Flames by Jennifer Doktorski (Simon Pulse)
This is a great book about friendship, bonding, finding yourself and finding that you really just don't need to validate yourself through that one guy, that I think any new contemporary reader will love.
