Happy Saturday, guys!
I loved Becoming Jinn last year, so I'm thrilled to be a part of the blog tour for Circle of Jinn!
Today, our post is divided into two parts: a review of the book and a section showing our love for Circle of Jinn visually. Read on for more + your chance to win a pendant!
Creating fanart for the book!
Check out both below:

I tried to focus specifically on how I felt about Laila and Azra while reading - I hope you guys enjoy!

Straddling the line becomes impossible. Aware of her unique abilities, Azra must not just face but embrace her destiny. But when the role she must play and those she must protect expand to include a circle of Jinn greater than her own, Azra will be forced to risk everything. A risk that means there’s everything to lose, and at the same time, everything to gain—for herself and her entire Jinn race.
We catch up with Azra now that she's granting wishes under the direction of the Afrit council. She's still struggling with her estrangement from her sisters in the Jinn world, and with a wish that she doesn't want to grant incorrectly.
So it's that struggle that drives her to learn how to better control her Jinn powers and figure out her heritage, when a mysterious stranger comes into her life...
What i loved about Circle of Jinn was Lori's gentle emphasis that time continues to march on, regardless of whether you are Jinn or not, and regardless of whether you want to be Jinn or not. This is Azra's new normal now, and she has to learn how to deal with it.
This hits especially close to home, when she's confronted both with a wish she doesn't necessarily want to grant, and when she comes face-to-face with Lailah after a period of estrangement. Azra sees just how much she's missed her sister Jinn, and it's up to her to right all of the balances in her life.
While I loved Goldstein's debut, I love Circle of Jinn even more, because it's so obvious how much Goldstein has grown as a writer. The stakes are higher, the character development is more well-rounded and our attachments to the characters are so much deeper.
Though the build-up is slow, it's worth the pay-off and the surprises along the way. I was especially intrigued by the introduction of a new secondary character, who helps to round out the questions that Azra has had about her world, and helps bridge her two lives together.
All in all, a gorgeous secondary read that you can't miss.
