Happy Tuesday, guys!
We have an AWESOME cover reveal + giveaway today!
Katelyn Detweiler is on the blog today to share the cover for Transcendent, the sequel to last year's Immaculate. We also have a fabulous giveaway thanks to her editor Leila, and we can't wait for you to check all of this out!
On Immaculate and why I'm excited about Transcendent:
And when Katelyn's editor invited me to share the exclusive cover reveal for the Transcendent, I immediately said "YES!"
Are you ready to take a look?
I also asked Katelyn what she thought!
1) Tell us what you think of the cover!
2) Why you think the cover design works for/matches Transcendent?
3) Any general thoughts you may have on what you hope readers will get from Iris (and by proxy, Mina's) continuing journey?
Though Iris's story builds on Mina's, each book still stands alone, and they are quite different in feel. While IMMACULATE asked questions about faith and trust more in theory, TRANSCENDENT puts these ideas to the test. How do we find hope when our world seems to be crumbling? I think we all face that question every day, really, reading the headlines, watching the news. What terrible tragedy will happen next? And what can any one of us really do?
We love Katelyn's thoughts on the Transcendent cover, and we can't wait to read the book + share it with all of you!
Expected publication: October 4th 2016 by Viking Books for Young Readers
When terrorists bomb Disney World, seventeen-year-old Iris Spero is as horrified as anyone else. Then a stranger shows up on her stoop in Brooklyn, revealing a shocking secret about the mysterious circumstances surrounding Iris’s birth, and throwing her entire identity into question. Everything she thought she knew about her parents, and about herself, is a lie.
Suddenly, the press is confronting her with the wild notion that she might be “special.” More than just special: she could be the miracle the world now so desperately needs. Families all across the grieving nation are pinning their hopes on Iris like she is some kind of saint or savior. She’s no longer sure whom she can trust—except for Zane, a homeless boy who long ago abandoned any kind of hope. She knows she can’t possibly be the glorified person everyone wants her to be… but she also can’t go back to being safe and anonymous. When nobody knows her but they all want a piece of her, who is Iris Spero now? And how can she—one teenage girl—possibly heal a broken world?
