Happy Top Ten Tuesday!
Today, Tom and I are sharing the authors that we've only read one book by, but absolutely need to read more from!
Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely ladies at The Broke and the Bookish! -J & T
10. Ray Bradbury (Tom)
9. Heather Demetrios (Jess)
8. Jane Austen (Tom)
7. C.J. Flood (Jess)
I thought Infinite Sky was a beautiful coming-of-age novel that has a heroine whom everyone can relate to.
Can't wait to see what else C.J. Flood has coming out, and to read more work by her in general!
6. J. Maarten Troost (Tom)
5. Elizabeth Gaskell (Jess)
My primary focus for the last couple of years has been YA and more contemporary fiction/non-fiction.
I've been meaning to go back to the classics, and I'm thinking of starting with Elizabeth Gaskell. I loved Wives and Daughters, and want to read more - including North and South, a.k.a. the BBC adaptation with the most. romantic. ending. ever.
Don't believe me? Check it out here.
(It's not the ending in its entirety, but you get the idea.)
4. Daniel O' Malley (Tom)
I think we all know about Jess's mad love for The Rook, so I'll beat her to the punch and say that I'm also dying for Daniel O'Malley's book to come out.
I think he has a hilarious mind for urban science fiction/fantasy, and can't wait to see where he takes the Chequey.
3. Michelle Magorian (Jess)
A 2015 title made me think of Good Night, Mr. Tom the other day, a childhood favorite of mine.
I realized that I haven't read anything else by Michelle Magorian, so I'm looking forward to exploring some of her other titles.
2. Andrew Smith (Tom)
1. Jason Reynolds (Jess and Tom)
Both are from Simon and Schuster, and The Boy in the Black Suit is due out in January.
