The Land of Unicorns is in trouble -- it has been raining and raining for what seems like forever. This is a big problem because there are only three ways that unicorns can get their magic: from the golden sun, from magnificent rainbows, and from the sparkle of believing.
Luckily, Uni the Unicorn has always always always believed...that little girls are REAL. Join this very special unicorn and the little girl who believes right back as they finally meet and work together to save a magical land and all who live there!
Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Brigette Barrager reunite to revive this world glowing with possibility and hope that is the stuff of childhood fantasies.
That poignancy feels especially profound in Uni the Unicorn and the Dream Come True, when the little girl and Uni the Unicorn from Uni the Unicorn, are finally destined to meet. Their meeting comes after dreaming about each other in the previous book, and the need for their meeting growing, when the unicorns have stopped believing.
Like all Krouse Rosenthal stories, Uni the Unicorn and the Dream Come True is a beautiful and layered tale. On the surface, it's a tale about dreaming big and making the impossible happen. Uni and the little girl meet against all odds, and are able to have a joyous time together. But there is also a deeper angle to the story, as well.
By gently reminding readers that the impact one person (or unicorn!) can have on a world at large, Krouse Rosenthal is reminding young readers that the impact a single person can make on the world. A single person or unicorn can inspire the world to dream again, and that time of impact is long-term.
With breathtaking illustrations by Brigette Barrager, this is a moving legacy for Krouse Rosenthal to leave the world. Highly recommend, full stop.
